The third annual White Butterfly Charity Golf Tournament will be held on Wednesday, June 10th at Tangle Creek Golf Club in Barrie, Ontario.

Over the past two years this tournament has raised $145,000 in support of the Young Adult Diabetes Program at Women’s College Hospital in memory of Hanna Valle, daughter and sister of tournament co-founders Frank, Max & Debbie Valle.

Hanna was a curious, thoughtful, sensitive and spirited young woman. Hanna left a lasting impression on many people and although she left us far too soon, her bright light continues to shine.

The White Butterfly Charity Golf Tournament is a wonderful way to honour Hanna’s spirit and the Young Adult Diabetes Program at Women’s College Hospital.

We are very proud to share some great news!

With the support and generosity from our friends and family, the Hanna Valle Young Adult Diabetes Fellowship supported by The White Butterfly Charity Golf Tournament has been created at WCH. We are very fortunate to have the wholehearted support from the foundation at WCH along with the Young Adult Diabetes team including Hanna's doctor, Dr. Lorraine Lipscombe. For those of you who were at the dinner in 2024, you had the pleasure of hearing Dr. Lipscombe speak about the Young Adult Diabetes Program.

In 2025, Dr. Lipscombe spoke again sharing the news about the fellowship:
"The Hanna Valle Young Adult Diabetes Fellowship will support an advanced trainee in Endocrinology to receive special training in managing diabetes in young adults. It is a one year fellowship. The fellow will work in the WCH young adult program learning from the team. They will also undertake a research project to evaluate the program under my supervision This will provide training for someone to then start a similar program elsewhere to increase capacity for our patients. The research will also allow us to spread the word about what we have learned from this experience. The first fellow, Dr. Priya Bapat began her position in the summer of 2025 and has been an incredible addition to our team."

Dr. Priya's message:
“I am honoured to receive the Hanna Valle Young Adult Diabetes Fellowship. Your generosity has allowed me to spend time supporting young adults living with type 1 diabetes as they transition from pediatric to adult care, a period that can be both exciting and overwhelming. Through this fellowship, I have had the opportunity to work alongside our multidisciplinary healthcare team, honing my skills and enhancing my knowledge of type 1 diabetes care. I have also been able to develop research projects focused on improving how young adults experience this transition. This fellowship has had a meaningful and lasting impact on my training and, most importantly, on the care and support we provide to young adults with type 1 diabetes.”

11:00 a.m - Registration opens

11:30 a.m. - Lunch & complimentary use of the driving range.
Please note - the new & improved driving range at Tangle Creek will be fully available to all tournament golfers.

12:45 p.m. - Golfers called to carts

1:00 p.m. - Shotgun Start - Team Scramble Format

6:30 p.m. - Reception, prizes, dinner & raffle

8:30 p.m. - Conclusion
